Material Sciences Corporation (NASDAQ: (MASC ) is an American company which was set up in 1971 and now is based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The company provides engineering and testing solutions for acoustical and coated applications. The company owns three manufacturing plants in: Elk Grove Village, Walbridge, and Eisenach, Germany. MSC Electronic Materials and Devices Group, Inc. (EMD) is a subsidiary of Material Sciences Corporation. In 2004, EMD obtained an exclusive license to pending patents associated with Lear Corporation's flexible seat assembly (LFSA). == Products and services == * Acoustical material-based solutions :Acoustical material-based solutions consist of metals, polymers, rubber, and other coated materials controlling noise and vibration. The products mainly focus on the market of automotive industry (e.g. vehicle panel parts, brake dampers, floor pans, wheel wells, oil pans, valve covers and engine parts). * Coated material-based solutions :Coated material-based solutions consist of painted, electrogalvanized rubber and film protective, decorative and functional coatings used in coiled metal.
